Mike Hansen - At
Every Point (Spanish Import)
With Mike Hansen's "At Every Point," the Toronto-based musician
steps out of his familiar role of turntablist-improviser to
explore the possibilities of a purely digital medium. While
each of these five compositions is clearly sequenced, the improviser's
sense of openness and play consistently comes through. The
raw materials of Hansen's compositions are the sounds of cowbells,
harmonicas, Vietnamese drums, an electric guitar and amp, and
of course sounds and samples captured from a set up of prepared
turntables, reassembled from the kind of rugged record players
kids played with in grade schools across Canada in the 1970s.
Released by Spain's Etude Records! |

Harm Stryker - s/t
Harm Stryker's latest s/t 3" CDr for PG is music for condemned,
boarded up and forgotten spaces. Part requiem for our architectural
history, part vitriol-fueled sound in opposition to the box
stores, condominiums, and gentrified, cookie cutter housing
taking it's place. The single track begins as a gentle drone
that quickly builds to glitched out swatches of sonic energy
that sway and move with a fluidity and grace that is Harm Stryker's
signature. This limited release for PG is a one time pressing
of 100 copies. |

Heal - Starting
Back (French Import)
Heal is one of the many monikers of Laurent Perrier(Pylone,
zonk'[t, etc.) This is radically different than his more experimental
or drone projects. Electronica, Hip-hop beats, scratching,
and general free for all that at times resembles a less hyper,
Amon Tobin or a lo-fi version of Yesterday's New Quintet, each
with a retro 80's production. Released by Sound on Probation. |

Herpes ö DeLuxe
- Havarie (Swiss Import)
Mike from Swarmbots turned me onto this Swiss-sound collective
and not only do they have the greatest name ever, but they
lay out wonderful, long medatative pieces that draw sound from
too many sources to name. At times ambient, at times dark,
at times, you won't know what you're hearing, but that's what
makes it so great! On Everest Records. |

Hollowing & Maor Appelbaum – Collaborating Torture (Israeli Import)
Collaborating Torture is one of the last known recordings made by Matt Gibney AKA Hollowing, who died in January 2006. Gibney, a member of SOIHADTOSHOOTHIM who was also running the Rectrix label and mail-order, was joined here by the prolific Maor Appelbaum (Grave in the Sky, Poochaltz and Maurizio Bianchi) to create a brooding and massive 54 minutes track of dark pitch-black ambient of hypnagogic swirls and industrialized drones. Sometimes subtle, yet mostly haunted and delirious, this is highly recommended! Released by Israel's Heart and Crossbone imprint. |

[-hyph-] - Breathing
Gadgets (German Import)
We recently got a large batch of items from the small Berlin
based CDr imprint, Antiinformation. This disc came included
and it is awesome [-hyph-] is the eletro-acoustic project of
Nicolas Wiese, who apparently got his start creating lo-fi
leftist hip-hop in opposition to the Neo Nazi factions in his
small German town. He moved on to experimental sound collage
and has been quite prolific as [-hyph-]. This really awesome
stuff! And the packaging here rules. Check this out. |

Ifwhen - We Will
Gently Destroy You
Ifwhen is one of the offshoots of the now defunct post-shoegaze
project, ALL NATURAL LEMON & LIME FLAVORS (other members from
ANL+L went on to play in Dalek and Jett Brando). We Will Gently
Destroy You is the debut release from this trio and it is quite
an awesome record full of carefully orchestrated chaos and
dense walls of sound that create multiple rhythms. At times,
this disc can be very disorienting, but in a good way. Adam
from Crucial Blast described this disc as "My Bloody Valanetine's
Loveless as performed by Robots." Sums it up nicely in a few
words, doesn't it? Released by Claire Records. |

Inanna - Day Ov
Torment(UK Import)
Reissue of the massive Death Industrial album from this ARCHON
SATANI side-project, originally issued by Staalplaat in 1993.
INANNA were at the forefront of a new force in doom ambience
way back in the early '90s. This is stunningly re-mastered
and re-packaged album brings alive one of the classic scene
albums - a milestone in ultra grim and crushing death sonics,
that paved the way for many drone and ritual industrial bands
around today. Imported from Coldspring Records. |

Inpestae - Cold & Dead (French Import)
Inpestae is a new project of prolific, French Black Metal lord, Haemoth. This disc contains five tracks of aggressive Black Metal that rely as much on the classic thrash metal riffage and short atmospheric interludes as fuzzed-out, Black Metal choas. Excellent stuff. Stoked to hear more from this project. Released by France's Battleskr’s Records. |

Irmologion - Dynatos
RESTOCK! Irmologion is an impressive Russian group and Dynatos,
their second album, has the most amazing packaging. The cd
is wrapped in a gorgeous silk piece of cloth, held together
inside a laced hard book folder. Gorgeous!!! And the disc within
is a musical journey that blends a vairety of elements (neo
classical, electro-acoustic, religious incantations, Musique
Concrete, Dark Ambient, etc.), but never once feels unbalanced
or unnatural. Haunting and amazing. Released RAIG (Russian
Association of Independent Genres), limited to 350 copies and
not widely available outside of Russia! |

I Shalt Become - Wanderings
Recorded way back in 1996 (12 years ago may not seem like a long time, but it is for Black Metal), this is one of the forerunners of the US Black Metal scene. I Shalt Become is raw, minimal and raucous... pure Burzum worship at it's finest!!! This re-issue from Moridund Cult has three bonus tracks, a Burzum cover and two Judas Iscariot covers. Excellent stuff! Highly recommended! |

Ivs Primae Noctis - Demonstratio (Australian Import)
Ivs Primae Noctis (from Rome, Italy) sound like a raw, black-metal version of Ministry gone a bit dub(?) with screeching, no-wave inspired, female vocals. Based on their myspace photos, their live shows look like part industrial-hardcore free for all / part heaping pile of bloody, naked, tattooed flesh being modified ala Fakir Musifar. So, maybe stay off the stage if you ever see them live (unless you want a big, long needle through your cheek), but definitely pick up this disc. An impressive debut from a band we hope to hear more from. Released in three very, limited forms on three different labels, but this is the Static Migration / Paeoniflorum version from Australia. Limited to 66 copies. |

Judas Iscariot - Thy Dying Light
Judas Iscariot is a one man black metal band (consisting of Akhenaten) that was at the front of the US Black Metal charge and lead the way for the current crop of USBM'ers. Taking inspiration from nihilistic philosophy and the great anti-christian war, the lyrics are hate-filled and probablt not for everyone, but the music is the stuff of legends! Originally released in 1996, this re-issue (from Moribund Cult) contains a bonus CD-ROM track and new packaging. Recommended for all fans of Black Metal. BRush up on your BM history if you don't already know it! |

Stephen Kasner -
Works 1993-2006
I have been a fan of Stephen Kasner's work ever since I bought
the first two Craw records back in the mid 90's. When I found
out Scapegoat Publishing (a division of Reptilian Records)
was releasing a book of his work, I was ecstatic and grabbed
a few copies for the mailorder. Stephen has created album artwork
for SUNNO))), Meatjack, Khlyst, Darsombra, Peter Gilmore, Trephine,
and many more and this is all exhibited here alongside fine
art works that have been exhibited in galleries around the
work. The books are gorgeous and capture the true depth of
Stephen's ethereal, haunting, and dream-inspiring work. And
if the amazing amount of work within is not enough for you,
there are text contributions from Dwid Hellion (Integrity),
Seldon Hunt, David D'Andrea and others. Available in soft and
hardcover. |

Pressing of 500 which was sold on the bands Nov. 2005 UK.
Design by Stephen of course/ mastering by Plotkin of course.
Sleeve is a little different in configuration from the prior
releases. A full 3 panel design that folds portrait style.
Content: recordings were pulled from audio that was gathered
at different dates during Aept. 2005 US tour, tracklisting
is Capture, Release, and Pieces of Quiet, which together form
a 60min subsonic black hole akin to being urged to crawl for

Khanate - Live in
Stockholm
Recorded in Stockholm Sweden May 13, 2004. Was originally
sold as a small run tour only CD-R release. Again another edition
of 1000 copies packed in a reworked graphics in a slightly
larger 3 panel cover with vellum printed text strip and static
shielding bag. All graphic and design work by a Mr. O'Malley.
Sonically while billed by the band as special low fidelity
version the CD pressing has had some heavy re-mastering work
preformed by a Mr. Plotkin and sounds damn evil which is how
I've always enjoyed my Khanate. |

Kiss the Anus of
a Black Cat - An Interlude To the Outermost (Belgian Import)
The latest from our pal STEF. This is more radio friendly
than the first KTAOABC CD, but there are still plenty of venomous
lyrics and dark apocalyptic folk to be found . STEF is now
backed by a full band, so the songs are less minimal, but still
awesome Highly Recommended Released by Belgium's Kraak. |

Kiss the Anus of
a Black Cat - Turn Hegel on his Head
The young wizard of dark, apocalyptic folk (Belgium's Stef
Irritant) unfurls his first vinyl release, a 7" using Hegel's
dialectic's as the conceptual foundation. The A-side builds
with a slow, brooding repetition of chants and swirling acoustics
before exploding into a battle cry filled with personal emotion
and lyrical venom aimed at those in power who suppress the
desire for human progress. The B-side is a delicate, somber
requiem to our lost potential. Easily, some of the strongest
material yet from KTAOABC. Complimented by the artwork of Kristof
Meers from his series, "the Inversion Of Hierarchy" and pressed
on white vinyl. |

Jorgen Knudsen -
Wealth (Ukrainian Import)
This is the first solo album of Norwegian composer and musician
Jorgen Knudsen who was a founding member of highly acclaimed
duo, Information. Wealth has no typical style or even its own
specific sound. The record reflects Jorgen's interests in developing
music in many different directions at the same time. Wealth
is a surrealistic blend of natural sounds and field-recordings,
acoustic instruments, exotic voices, delicate melodies in "Thai
pop" style, different found sounds and noises. Released by
Quasi-Pop. |

Kobi - Dronesyndrome
The only thing sweeter than Nordic drone is improvised Nordic
drone and Kobi is just such an animal. With a large rotating
lineup of players (including the likes of Lasse Marhaug, Tore
Honore Boe, and John Hegre to name a few) Kobi explores space,
dynamics, frequencies and depth, more than melody and instrumentation.
The basis of the CDs and live performances are location recordings
or synthesizer loops processed electronically. Still, the most
significant part of the Kobi sound is improvisation, where
silence also plays a major part. Also, check out the Norwegian
Project, Origami Arktika, which features an overlap of members
and a few discs on the same label, North Caroloina's Silber
Media. |

Korperschwache

The ever prolific Korperschwache (Austin, TX) has released
countless full-lengths on various labels over the past 12 years.
Recorded on the third anniversary of the invasion of Iraq, "Clueless
Cowboy," is a torturous assault rife with layers of blown-out,
feedback-drenched drone, black metal howls and pounding drum-machine
rhythms. Imagine equal parts Godflesh, Skullflower and Burzum
and you are almost there! This limited release for PG is a
one time pressing of 100 sale copies, 10 promotional copies. |

Korperschwache
- Sacrifice of the Ouroboros
Fuck yeah! Two new discs from our pal, RKF and his sidekick/
roommate/ beatmaster, Doctor Omega. These are parts 2 and 3
to the Ouroboros trilogy and feature Korperschwache at their
best. Slow, unfurling, blackened, drone, accented by punishing
drum machine and layer upon layer of fuzz. These are both limited
to 150 and packaged in the amazing Crucial Bliss 8" x 5" trifold
sleeve. Each cover also has a nice streak of black spray gloss
paint on a black background. A very nice touch. Another nice
touch, each of the 13 tracks is given the name of a woman/girl.
Why? Who knows, but it is a nice touch. No doubt about that.
