Harm Stryker
- s/t 3" CDr / Digital Download
Harm Stryker's latest s/t 3" CDr for PG is music for condemned,
boarded up and forgotten spaces. Part requiem for our architectural
history, part vitriol-fueled sound in opposition to the box
stores, condominiums, and gentrified, cookie cutter housing
taking it's place. The single track begins as a gentle drone
that quickly builds to glitched out swatches of sonic energy
that sway and move with a fluidity and grace that is Harm
Stryker's signature.
This limited release for PG is a one time pressing of 100
sale copies, 10 promotional copies.
"This is a
fully-realized, borderline epic piece comprising electronic
drones, ambience, noise, and knob-twiddlling euphoria. Never
too over-the-top or understated, the duo function as close
to a single mind as you could ever hope to achieve in this
genre - the soundscapes one will lay out always compliment
what the other is doing to perfection, weaving and melding
together in sublime fashion." - Outer Space Gamelan
"Highly dynamic electronic drone
overlaid with colourful barbs" -The Sound Projector
(UK)
"Textured noises and a cut-up
approach to sonic architecture are the cornerstones of the
duo's aesthetic -- they eschew overly harsh noises, for
the most part, in favor of urban sound bites and glitch-laden
noises, assembling the pieces in layers that flow freely
in terms of texture and density. Over the full length of
the piece, they incorporate a number of extremely different
and interesting sounds, including screechy tape manipulation,
found sound, and processed electronics -- it all adds up
in a striking way, with an evolution of sound that remains
vital and interesting right up to the unexpected ending"
