Frequently
Asked Questions
Who are your distributors? Can I wholesale direct from you?
Public Guilt and Implied Sound releases are distributed by Stickfigure, Morphius, CTD, Ltd., The End, Revolver, Super D, Cargo UK, Conspiracy (Belgium) and a handful of other folks. We are happy to deal direct as well. Please send an email to the address above and we we'll send you our rates.
I run a label/distro. Can we trade?
Maybe, but probably not. The PG mailorder is closing, so I am no longer trading for multiple copies of the same item. I may want to do a small trade to get personal copies of releases. Shoot me an email.
When will the Zu "Intermediate Spirit Receiver" CD be released?
Unfortunately, we have no clue when this release will come out. The band has had Public Guilt's portion of the manufacturing money since last December and they have not returned my emails for over 5 months. Maybe it will happen, maybe not. Sorry we don't have a better answer for you.
Why are you closing the PG Mailorder?
Sales are down and (once again) postage rates are up. Also, the time and energy devoted to the mailorder is disproportionate to the amount of money it brings in. Closing the mailorder will allow more time to be devoted to PG releases(our true passion.) If you are looking for a solid mailorder to service your needs, might we recommend Crucial Blast and Aquarius Records. We do a lot of shopping at these places ourselves.
I write for a magazine/radio station. Can you send me a promo?
Possibly. Here's how things work... Public Guilt is a small
label and our promo/press mailings are small as well. Some
releases get as few as 10 promo's mailed out, others as many
as 200. It depends on the release. All of our promo's are
generally mailed out 1-3 months in advance of the release
date of album. So, once an album is released, there's a 99.9%
chance all of the promo's are gone and we have none to send
you. Writers requesting promo's will have their addresses
added to our files, but that is not a guarantee that any
promo's will make it to you or that if one does, that every
other PG release will be sent to you. There are hundreds
of magazines, webzines, blogs, etc. and to send to each person
requesting promo's would bankrupt us. So, we send to the
ones that seem to fit the release the best and that will
generate as much possible attention for our artists. We value
reviews and reviewers, but as we are a small enterprise,
our resources are limited.
Will you sign my band?
No.
Can I send you a demo?
The PG release schedule is pretty much packed until the sometime
in the middle of 2009, so we are not actively looking to
work with new artists. However, we like to listen to music,
so you are more than welcome to send something. Just don't
expect us to be able to work with you. Thanks for your understanding.
What is this?
I have no idea. |
