Haeretici 7o74 - Heard Flayings (Finnish Import)
Heard Flayings is the second live-EP from Haeretici 7o74, the dark-ambient ritual-musick band of Ovro and Niko Skorpio. Their previous live-EP Haeretici, Schismatici, Excommunicati received stunningly positive reviews; Heard Flayings is even better, it succeeds in capturing the magickal atmosphere created by the duo's powerful performance at Club Depo in Riga, Latvia in May 2006. One time pressing that is already sold out from the label, Finland's Some Place Else. |

Halo Manash - SYoMA (Finnish Import)
Halo Manash's third full-length album, SYoMA, offers both minimalistic and complex material mainly created via acoustic instrumentation. The ritualistic / electro-acoustic soundscape is based on dark and hypnotic sample textures, evolving guitar drones, dynamic ritual-percussions and reverberating gongs/chimes/bells, chanting vocalizations, various windbones / experimental instruments and analog synthesizers. Released by Finland's Aural Hypnox in a 6 panel gatefold with embossed silver artwork. |

Mike Hansen - At Every Point (Spanish Import)
With Mike Hansen's "At Every Point," the Toronto-based musician steps out of his familiar role of turntablist-improviser to explore the possibilities of a purely digital medium. While each of these five compositions is clearly sequenced, the improviser’s sense of openness and play consistently comes through. The raw materials of Hansen’s compositions are the sounds of cowbells, harmonicas, Vietnamese drums, an electric guitar and amp, and of course sounds and samples captured from a set up of prepared turntables, reassembled from the kind of rugged record players kids played with in grade schools across Canada in the 1970s. Released by Spain's Etude Records! |

Heal - Starting Back (French Import)
Heal is one of the many monikers of Laurent Perrier(Pylone, zonk’t, etc.) This is radically different than his more experimental or drone projects. Electronica, Hip-hop beats, scratching, and general free for all that at times resembles a less hyper, Amon Tobin or a lo-fi verison of Yesterday’s New Quintet, each with a retro 80's production. Released by Sound on Probation. |

The Heirs of Rockefeller / USSA Pleasuredome - Split
T.H.O.R. (Nice acronym, eh?) Is the one man work of Dark Water Transit’s Paul Joyce. We love Paul’s track on the 3CD noise box and these are just as hot. USSA Pleasuredome is another baltimore based, one man project from Greg Scelsi, who is known to most as the singer from Compression. Nice split all around. And the sequencing goes back and forth between groups which is pretty sweet! Released by Baltimore’s most prolific CDR imprint, MT6 Records. |

Herpes ö DeLuxe - Havarie (Swiss
Import)
Mike from Swarmbots turned me onto this Swiss-sound
collective and not only do they have the greatest name ever, but
they lay out wonderful, long medatative pieces that draw sound from
too many sources to name. At times ambient, at times dark, at times,
you won't know what you're hearing, but that's what makes it so
great! On Everest Records. |

Herpes O DeLuxe - Kielholen (Swiss Import)
I love Herpes ? DeLuxe and I hope that the rest of the world falls in love with them as well. For those who do not know, Herpes is an amazing four man Swiss, sound collective (that includes IS? very own Strotter Inst. aka Christoph Hess). Their countless discs, collaborations and side projects continue to blow my mind and their contribution to the upcoming 3CD comp will have you begging for more. Kielholen, their latest offering collects unreleased recordings from 1997 to 2005 and was curated and assembled by Hinterzimmer? own RM 74 (aka electro-acoustic artist, Reto M?der) This is my favorite material from Herpes and a great starting place for those unfamiliar. Hjarnidaudi - Pain:Noise:March (UK Import)
From the ashes of dark ambient pioneers Hlidolf comes Norway's Hjarnidaudi's debut release. Forty two minutes of thundering drone reverberations, propelled into endless voids by warm layers of suffocating astral funeral doom. Ah, astral funeral doom, my favorite genre. This pretty much rules! Released in a hand assembled, limited edition of 750 by the UK's Paradigm's Recordings! |

[-hyph-] - Breathing Gadgets (German Import)
We recently got a large batch of items from the small Berlin based CDr imprint, Antiinformation. This disc came included and it is awesome [-hyph-] is the eletro-acoustic project of Nicolas Wiese, who apparently got his start creating lo-fi leftist hip-hop in opposition to the Neo Nazi factions in his small German town. He moved on to experimental sound collage and has been quite prolific as [-hyph-]. This really awesome stuff! And the packaging here rules. Check this out. |

Inanna - Day Ov Torment(UK Import)
Reissue of the massive Death Industrial album from this ARCHON SATANI side-project, originally issued by Staalplaat in 1993. INANNA were at the forefront of a new force in Doom Ambience way back in the early '90s. This is stunningly re-mastered and re-packaged album brings alive one of the classic scene albums - a milestone in ultra grim and crushing death sonics, that paved the way for many Drone and Ritual Industrial bands around today. The Invisible Frog - Space makes Noise (Italian Import)
The Invisible Frog is an awesome Belgian guitar/drums duo that goes from blast beats to free improv. Spastic and caustic and quite fun to boot! We had a bunch of these a while back, but one customer, Wes, was so into this disc, he bought out our whole stock to give to his friends as gifts. He would send us a money order with a different friends address every few weeks. We got a few more in stock. You better get them before he does. Imported from Amanita Records. |

Iovae / Three Legged Race - split
Iovae is Ohio's Ron Orovitz, also of the noise-fuck-pop group Wild Gunman(one of the strangest acts I've heard in a long time.) Iovae's track is a slow churning crackle, pop and hiss from the "Grinder" (a series of ancient military oscillators) that builds into what sounds like the church bell tones of a satanic mass echoing through the devils canyon. 3 Legged Race is Robert from Hair Police and his contribution is one ominous heavenly droning swelling tone which is given the extreme reverb treatment until it sounds like a white washed blissed out radiant hum. The artwork was designed by Robert and is a must see. One sheet of lines going vertically with a transparency of lines overlaid horizontally to create an optical illusion that will make your head spin. Released by our cohort and friend, Matthew and his Epicene Sound Systems label. Much Love, Matthew. |

Irmologion - Dynatos (Russian Import)
Irmologion is an impressive Russian group and Dynatos, their second album, has the most amazing packaging. The cd is wrapped in a gorgeous silk piece of cloth, held together inside a laced hard book folder. Gorgeous!!! And the disc within is a musical journey that blends a vairety of elements (neo classical, electro-acoustic, religious incantations, Musique Concrete, Dark Ambient, etc.), but never once feels unbalanced or unnatural. Haunting and amazing. Released RAIG (Russian Association of Independent Genres), limited to 350 copies and not widely available outside of Russia! |

Jarboe - "Seeress" b/w "The Sweet Meat Love And Holy Cult" (UK Import)
Former Swans songstress Jarboe has been pretty active over the past few years. Recording like mad and collaborating with Neurosis, Larsen and a host of legendary gentleman on her recent "Men" album. The A-side is a beautiful piano and vocal piece by Jarboe, with accompanying guitar from collaborator Nic Le Ban. The B-side introduces her new free-collective, The Sweet Meat Love And Holy Cult. The result being a 10-piece mantric improv freak-out. This is a limited release 7" (only 600 will be made) released by one of PG's favorite labels, the UK's Paradigms Recordings. |

Joan Silver Pin – Chiaroscuro (Russian Import)
About twice a year, we get a big box of goods from the prolific and amazing Russian label, RAIG. There’s always lots of good space rock, experimental works, prog and just all around weirdness. Joan Silver Pin really struck us this time around. This is a collective of musicians with varied backgrounds that fuse lots of elements together to create something not at all new, but incredibly unique. The best way I can think to describe this is Sketches of Spain- era Miles Davis colliding with Bjork’s more somber experimental work. This is one of the coolest discs I have heard in a long time. Highly, highly recommended. |

Juhyo - Mesothesis
Formed in the depths of a snow-choked Minnesota winter, Juhyo brings together the boxed-in mechanical crush of Surrounded(aka Brian Kopish) with the dark soundscapes of Oblong Box(aka Bill Henson) for a rolling avalanche of icy, desolate noise. PG had the pleasure of seeing Juhyo live at the 804 Noise Fest and they destroyed live! Hand-inked disc in digipack with three inserts, limited to 100 copies. |

Kaaos in Eccentris / Leifelggren & Liddikoatight - split(Finnish Import)
Finland? Kaaos in Eccentris (who on this session is a collaboration of Mockingwyrd, Ovro, Niko Skorpio and Ibrahim Terzic) create an oddly trance-inducing, almost groovy piece that limps forward powered by the combination of hypnotic bass and crackling rhythms. Liddikoatight is a new Japanese band featuring Kouhei Matsunaga and Leif Elggren, is a Swedish, sound/performace artist who has been active since 1980. For this record, Liddikoatight and Leif Elggren collaborated via telepathy. Most excellent. Released by Some Place Else. |

Kayo Dot - Dowsing Anemone With Copper Tongue
As an ensemble including the standard rock instrumentation augmented by violin, double bass and trumpet, Kayo Dot sets themselves up to be viewed along with the likes of GSYBE, Mono, etc. And while KD do play with delicate movements as well as crushingly loud and metal tinged ones, they avoid the token, slow build-crescendo-slow fade format that so many bands follow these days. Having just seen Kayo Dot live, what really stands out to me, both live and on this record, is the fact that each of the 8 members is extremely well versed in his/her instrument. The end result being and an extremely skilled band and some of the prettiest "avant chamber metal" (what a horrible tag to be stuck with) you'll get anywhere. This is their second record and it was released by Robotic Empire. |

Kinetix - White Rooms (Italian Import)
Kinetix is the latest moniker of long-time, Italian composer, Gianluca Becuzzi. White Rooms is a work which conjugates radical electronica and expressive power in a unique formula made of stylised and very personal minimalist sound-design. The relationships between physical space and acoustic space constitute the main theme of this 2CD. The result is a limpid digital gallery through which the listener is invited to discover bright and resounding spaces, white flats inhabited by concrete sounds, ultra-frequencies, noises, voices and silences. Sounds pretentious, I know, but it's actually pretty badass! Released in a
high gloss white digipak by Italy's Small Voices, who have also brought us killer releases from Z'EV, Troum, T.A.C., etc |

Kiss the Anus of a Black Cat - If the Sky Falls, We Shall Catch Larks (Belgian Import)
RESTOCK AT A CHEAPER PRICE!! When I first heard this disc months ago, it really grabbed me. And of the 100+ CD's I have gotten since getting this one, it still gets the most play of all of them. Minimal overall, but still very lush, filled out by layers of acoustic guitar, minimal percussion and the rich voice of Stef Irritant. Truly hypnotic and beautiful music that will release you from the mundane through it's alchemic properties. Released by (k-raa-k)3, an awesome Belgium-based label. Watch for a KTAOABC 7" to appear on Implied Sound in the Winter of '06/'07. |

Knell - Last Ten Meters
Utech Records has consistently been releasing amazing discs for the past several years. Whether it was James Plotkin tackling the laptop or Jesse Quattro's warped and compelling take on the singer/songwriter, Utech has delivered the goods. So when I put on the debut release from Knell , it was no surprise that I was floored. Knell is the work of Bayonne, France's Johannes Buff. The material is built around minimal guitar work and unprocessed feild recordings. Knell shares a similar haunting atmosphere to artists like Svarte Grenier or the acoustic side of Dead Raven Choir, but this comparison is in feel only. Knell is like nothing else. Mesmerizing, potent, and powerful. Highly, highly, highly recommended!!!!! Also, this is part of the Utech Arc series which features photography from the amazing Max Aguilera-Hellweg. Jorgen Knudsen - Wealth (Ukrainian Import)
This is the first solo album of Norwegian composer and musician Jorgen Knudsen who was a founding member of highly acclaimed duo, Information. Wealth has no typical style or even its own specific sound. The record reflects Jorgen's interests in developing music in many different directions at the same time. Wealth is a surrealistic blend of natural sounds and field-recordings, acoustic instruments, exotic voices, delicate melodies in "Thai pop" style, different found sounds and noises. Released by Quasi-Pop. |

Kobi - Dronesyndrome
The only thing sweeter than Nordic drone is improvised Nordic drone and Kobi is just such an animal. With a large rotating lineup of players (including the likes of Lasse Marhaug, Tore Honore Bøe, and John Hegre to name a few) Kobi explores space, dynamics, frequencies and depth, more than melody and instrumentation. The basis of the CDs and live performances are location recordings or synthesizer loops processed electronically. Still, the most significant part of the Kobi sound is improvisation, where silence also plays a major part. Also, check out the Norwegian Project, Origami Arktika, which features an overlap of members and a few discs on the same label, North Caroloina's Silber Media. |

Fuck yeah! Two new discs from our pal, RKF and his sidekick/ roommate/ beatmaster, Doctor Omega. These are parts 2 and 3 to the Ouroboros trilogy and feature Korperschwache at their best. Slow, unfurling, blackened, drone, accented by punishing drum machine and layer upon layer of fuzz. These are both limited to 150 and packaged in the amazing Crucial Bliss 8" x 5" trifold sleeve. Each cover also has a nice streak of black spray gloss paint on a black background. A very nice touch. Another nice touch, each of the 13 tracks is given the name of a woman/girl. Why? Kostarev Group – Works 1978-2006 (Russian Import)
The Kostarev Group are a legendary Russian Prog who has been active for close to three decades and whose line-up consists of guitarist Alexander Kostarev surrounded by some of Russia’s most legendary players. This disc is a great introduction to the work this group and oddly enough, is only the second album to be released in Kostarev’s 30 year career.
