Necropolis - Necrosphere(UK Import)

Necropolis hails from the Siberian land of Irkutsk, Russia. Their debut, Necrosphere is the soundtrack to the author's dreams and is based on field recordings made in Taiga and in abandoned military missile shafts. From the sound of the album, I am glad I do not have the author's dreams, but I am glad I have this disc! Originally released as an extremely limited (85 only) CDR, this re-issue from the UK's Cold Spring is re-mastered, features brand new artwork and contains and extra 14-minute long track.

Netherworld – KALL: The Abyss Where Dreams Fall (Canadian Import)

Netherworld is the brainchild of Italy's Alessandro Tedeschi, the man behind the Glacial Movements label. What lies within the folds of this beautifully packaged disc are cold, icy soundscapes and drones filled with deep waves of industrial clatter, manipulated feedback and what sounds like clanking ice on glass. Some of the nicest drones to pass through our offices in a ling time. Recommend for sure! Released by Montreal’s Mondes Elliptiques label and limited to 441 copies.

The New Flesh & Robert Inhuman - Punched Drunk in This Shit World

This is the third seven inch featuring Baltimore's The New Flesh, and this one finds the band reducing themselves to their meanest, filthiest, and lowest level yet. At the helm is Cincinatti's Robert Inhuman of Realicide, delivering sick shrill vocals in a spine chilling manner. Three tracks... A Drunks with Guns cover, a smoking donut(huh?), and the New Flesh's mind-expanding ambient B-side complete this record. Co-released by Human Conduct, MT6 Records, Realicide Youth, & Cephias Treat. Limited to 300 copies.

Nocturnal - Unholycraft, Blood for Glory of Satan

It can get pretty cold in Poland, but Nocturnal plays some awesome, speedy black metal that is sure to warm you(and them) up. There's actually a track on here where gunshots begin to ring out over the mix. Awesome!!! And the cover features the three members decked out in corpse paint, one of them wearing a Carpathian Forest hoodie. Carpathian Forest rules! Co-released by God is Myth and Black Plague Records. Recommended!

Noexit - One Step (Greek Import)

No Exit is the work of Swiss saxophonist/string bamboo player, Joseph Frusciante. These tracks are comprised of sax and bamboo sounds processed (via pedals I assume) to make the sounds collide and pile up on each other. No Exit is the perfect name for this project as the listener is met with a pretty claustrophobic sonic environment. The final track(in which Frusciante is joined by vocalist, Myriuam Boucris) brings a small relief to the listener with more gentle, ethereal environment is created, but even this builds into what sounds like Diamanda Galas & James Plotkin squaring off. This is great stuff!!! Recommended for sure! Released by Greece?s 1000+1 Tilt label.

Ohm - The Black River (Swedish Import)

Ohm is an instrumental four-piece (features two members from The Jam Session), self described as 'timeless electronica'. Think heavy progressive rock from the 70´s intersecting with modern electronica. A bit like a soundtrack to a fantasy movie from the 80´s. Orange Vinyl released by Sweden’s Release the Bats!

Olekranon - Necropolis EP

Limited to 49 copies, this is the latest project from Vopat/Bobcrane member, Ryan Huber, who is one prolific sonofabitch. It seems like every 5-6 weeks there is a new release in our PO box and each one is killer and has some sweet-ass hand assembled packaging. This is no exception with snazzy vellum, weird insect drawings and a black on black Cdr. Musically, this is layers of beautiful and desolate Fripp-influenced guitar work with sparse beats. Highly recommended stuff here. Snatch one of these up.

We've championed Ryan and his many projects for a while, so get with the program if you have not yet checked this stuff out. Sparse ambient and sparser beats. Killer all around!

Andy Ortmann & John Wiese - Recorder Out of Tune

Mr. John Wiese is a busy fucking guy. He's put out countless (under his own own name and a shit-ton of monikers) plus collaborations and guest shots (with Cattle Decapitation and SUNN to name a few.) But in the midst of it all, he had time to team up with Panicsville?s Andy Ortman for a 30 minute blast of brilliance. Released by Ortmann?s own Nihilist Records!!

We had this in stock a while back and sold out, but we just got more copies. Philadelphia’s Otesanek is one of our favorite DOOM projects and sadly, they are now gone. Ovro - Gegendurchgangenzeit (Finnish Import)

Wow!! This recording was recorded live to an "audience of none"and originally "released"as a single disc given as a gift. Thank god Niko and the Some Place Else label convinced Ovro to give this the world, because it is quite amazing and beautiful. Quiet and delicate or loud and powerful, depending on what volume you play it at(and the liner notes recommend you experiment). Either way, spectacular!!!

Two 50+ minute tracks on two discs from Mr. Perrier who is also musically active as Heal and with Pylone. Pharaoh Overlord - #3 (UK Import)

P.O. is Jussi, Janne and Tomi from Circle. In the same tradition of Circle(swirling and space-y) but much mellower and more trance-oriented. #3 is at times noodle-y (but never wanky) and with the introduction of the occasional "Stoner" riff. Not at all a rock album, although very reminiscent at times of early 80's King Crimson riff-age. This is even mellower than their awesome No Quarter release, "II" and less about structure and more about space. Highly recommended! Brought to us by Andy and Riot Season!

Plants - Double Infinity (UK Import)

The new cd from Portland, Oregon's psych folk duo, Plants, is their most ambitious undertaking yet. Opener "The Sky Above seeks the Below" is an expansive chasm of languid organs and twinkling piano clusters swelling up into a crescendo of vocal introspection and sparse, glistening folk drone space pop. The title track, is a twenty minute Kraut Rock odyssey packed with fuzz guitar, bongo hypnotics, electric harpsichord, and driving strings. The album closes with the arcane folk madrigal "Gnostic Flame", an open ended acoustic bewitchment that serves well as a coda to this enchanting, celestial album. Released by UK’s Paradigms Recordings.

James Plotkin - Kurtlanmak/Damascus CD

James Plotkin should need no introduction. He has played with the best of the best and has been releasing quality material for over 15 years now. This latest release from Utech collects the Kurtlanmak track (which was previously a limited edition CDr release that was very popular here) and a new track recorded live in Buenos Aires in 2005. And the packaging here is exceptional. A beautiful, custom, Stumptown arigato pack with a nice obi strip to add even more class. This is of course HIGHLY recommended!!!!

James Plotkin / Tim Wyskida - 8 Improvisations

Khanate cohorts Plotkin(also of Flux, Phantomsmasher, O.L.D., Joy of Disease, etc.) and Wyskida team up for some killer, skittering improv action that sounds nothing like Khanate, but is still pretty f'ing awesome. The cover is beautifully photos of blurred action shots of sharks and they are available in "blood" red or "water" blue. Please specify when ordering or you'll get whatever I grab. Cool? Released by Archive, the label responsible for killer Boris, Khanate, LSD march, Earth, etc. limited edition releases.

James Plotkin - Indirmek

James Plotkin has been flooring us all for years. Through his solo work and work with various projects (OLD, Khlyst, Phantomshmasher, etc) and collaborators (KK Null, etc.) Plotkin pushes his work to new terrain with each release. His new disc presents two very differnt live tracks, 32 minutes and 40 minutes in length, from live shows in NYC in 2006 and 2007. Track one holds a logical place in plotkins works, drone with guitar at the base, manipulated live via laptop. Track two is all laptop and revolves around splintered and fractured electronics swirled together to pulse and weave about creating an intense hallucinatory piece (that actually feels like a journey) filled with energy. This is part 5 in the Utech Arc series and of course, highly recommended.

Poccolus - Poccolus (UK Import)

Tenth-anniversary re-issue of this lost, obscure gem from Lithuania. The album was originally released on a long-vanished South Korean label, hence it enjoyed a very limited run and poor distribution. Poccolus offer us a chilling Burzum-inspired, black metal interlaced with sorrowful, folklore filled darkness. This new, fully-remastered edition includes new artwork and a 16-page booklet printed on a really cool leather-textured paper. Released by the UK's Supernal Records, who have also released greatness from Drudkh, Dead Raven Choir, and Fall of the Grey-winged One.

Poochlatz - Victims of Self Preservation (Israeli Import)

Latest release from the ever prolific Israeli artist Maor Appelbaum (Screening, Vectorscope), this time under the guise of Poochlatz. This Israeli artist continues to walk the path of extreme noise and Power Electronics here, with growling and screaming vocals, and some spoken Hebrew and Radio samples. This is music to exorcise the inner demons. A harrowing squalling piece of frightening electronics and assorted gizmos. Distorted and bended / blended into hellish shapes. It frizzles, crackles and drones with a will of its own. Released by Heart and Crossbone.

Procer Veneficus - Ghostvoices

I think this says it all... "Highly atmospheric, dream-induced fog music played solely on acoustic guitar and wreathed in wet ambience and distant whispers. The Psychic Paramount - Origins and Primitives vol. 1 & 2

Recorded after the demise of Laddio Bollocko and just before the assembly of The Psychic Paramount live band, this 2CD set collects the early recordings of Drew St. Ivany. In the same way that Pete Townsend's Scoop albums act in reference to The Who, some of these recordings are early demo's (with pre-recorded drums) of songs later to appear on TPP albums. But there's plenty here that is radically different than other TPP material. Disc 2 of this set is predominantly acoustic. To hear Drew's guitar work(which usually relies heavily on layers of effects) stripped down to bare acoustics is AMAZING. Disc 1 was previously available(and is long OOP) on CDr direct from the band at shows. Released by Philadelphia's best label, No Quarter.

Pulse Emitter - Planetary Torture

Portland’s Daryl Groetsch has been releasing sounds under the name Pulse Emitter since 2002. Using hand-built modular synthesizers, he creates torrents of sound that evoke vintage warm drones and mechanized rythyms to chaotic 8-bit crush, and everything in between. In “Planetary Torture” he captures the sounds of world downfall, destruction, and rebirth.
